Political Science is taught under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Federal University, Lokoja (FULOKOJA). Government or History is treated as a single requirement, with either paper satisfying it on every route.
Mathematics appears only as an O’Level pass rather than a credit. That distinction is easy to miss and is the most common reason an otherwise strong arts candidate is set aside.

Confirm that Political Science appears on the current FULOKOJA course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination. A course entered in error cannot be assessed against these conditions.

Government or History, Plus a Mathematics Pass, at FULOKOJA Political Science
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in English Language, Government or History, and any three other subjects from the Arts or Social Sciences, with at least a pass in Mathematics.
That Mathematics clause sits outside the five credits. A candidate needs a result in the subject but only at pass level, which makes the requirement reachable for most arts students.
The UTME combination keeps the same structure. English Language is compulsory, Government or History is fixed, and the two remaining papers may be any Social Science or Arts subjects.
Direct Entry narrows to the named pair alone. Two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes are required in Government or History, with no other subject mentioned.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FULOKOJA. Political Science is usually well subscribed, so that figure is a floor rather than a target.
