This article is designed to help students who wish to study Geography under the Faculty of Sciences at Kaduna State University.
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in KASU to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

Geography sits in the Faculty of Sciences here, and the requirement reflects that. Science subjects fill the supporting places on every one of the three lists.
Geography itself is named at Ordinary Level, in the JAMB combination and in the direct entry condition, with no alternative offered anywhere.
The Kaduna State University was established under the Kaduna State Law Number 3 promulgated on 21st May 2004. The promulgation was a consequence of the obvious and felt need to boost higher education in the State and the country in general.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Geography; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two (2) Science subjects.
Three subjects are named and the last two must be sciences, so a candidate offering Economics or Government for those places would not meet the condition.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Geography under the Faculty of Sciences in the above Universities include;
Geography and any two (2) of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Agricultural Science
That gives four papers, with Geography fixed and two chosen from five science options, which is a workable range for most science candidates.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Geography if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require; Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and one (1) other science subject.

JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into KASU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
The 180 decides eligibility for the screening exercise. Candidates who reach it still have that stage before any offer.
Geography as a Science Subject at KASU
Candidates should treat this as a science application rather than an arts one, because every supporting place on every list is reserved for a science subject.
Geography itself is required three times over, in the credits, in JAMB and on the direct entry route, so the credit has to be in hand before anything else.
Aspirants of Kaduna State University (KASU) coming from an arts or commercial background will find the two science credits the hardest part, and UTME candidates need at least 180 for the screening exercise.
