Environmental Management is taught under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology at Kaduna State University (KASU). Geography is central to the later stages but absent from the O’Level requirement.
Biology works the other way round. It is compulsory at secondary school level and then disappears from both the UTME and Direct Entry conditions.
Confirm that Environmental Management appears on the current KASU course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

Admission Requirements for Environmental Management
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Environmental Management is Five (5) SSCE credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Environmental Management at KASU include Mathematics, Geography and any in Economics, Physics, or Chemistry.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Environmental Management if you do not intend to use UTME.
You require two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Mathematics or Geography and any in Economics, Physics, or Chemistry.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into KASU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Geography and Biology Swap Places at KASU Environmental Management
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and one other science subject. Geography is not named anywhere in that line.
The UTME combination then makes Geography central. English Language is compulsory, Mathematics and Geography are named, and the third paper may be Economics, Physics or Chemistry.
Biology does not appear at UTME at all. A candidate needs the credit from secondary school but will not sit the subject in the examination.
Direct Entry accepts two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes in Mathematics or Geography with one of Economics, Physics or Chemistry, treating the first two as alternatives rather than both required.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at KASU and applies whichever route a candidate uses.
