This article is designed to help students who wish to study Linguistics under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Kaduna State University (KASU).

It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered at KASU to carefully confirm and see if the course they selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

About KASU

The Kaduna State University (KASU) is located in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

It was established in 2004 as part of a motivated effort to expand the frontiers of learning in a bid to expand the aspirations of Nigerians.

Admission Requirements for Linguistics

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination

The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Linguistics is Five (5) SSCE credits, one of which should be in English Language.

JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.

Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Linguistics at KASU include any Language and two other subjects.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Linguistics if you do not intend to use UTME.

You require two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes, one of which should be in a language course, preferably an African Language.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into KASU for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
