Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) was renamed Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA) by Kebbi State governor Nasir Idris.
The university’s official website now runs under the new name, so a search for “KSUSTA” points at the same institution. Nothing about the renaming changes which campus or which programmes you are applying to.
AFUSTA has not published a fees circular for 2026/2027 that we could verify on its public site. The figures below are the last schedule we could trace, offered as background while you confirm your own invoice on the portal.

On top of tuition, the last schedule listed accommodation (optional) at ₦10,000, a file fee of ₦200, bed space allocation of ₦200, NHIS at ₦2,000, and a mattress deposit of ₦5,000 for remedial students.
Some newer aggregator listings quote lower, rounder figures of roughly ₦32,500 to ₦82,500 for fresh students. These do not match the detailed breakdown above closely enough to treat as confirmed, so check your own invoice on the AFUSTA portal before paying.

What Residency Costs an AFUSTA Student
The Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara concession is the largest single variable here. A fresh student from those three states paid 34,000 naira against 84,000 for everyone else, a gap of 50,000 naira in year one alone.
That advantage narrows but persists through the degree. Returning science students at 200 and 300 level paid 35,000 against 73,500, and the 400 and 500 level rate fell to 28,500 against 63,500.
Engineering is the outlier worth checking. Its 200 level rate of 48,500 naira sat above every other returning category, which is the opposite of the usual pattern where second year costs less than first.
Two figures remain genuinely unsettled: the acceptance fee, reported as either 40,000 or 5,000 naira, and the hostel rate, quoted both at 10,000 in the old schedule and between 20,000 and 45,000 elsewhere. We will update this page once AFUSTA publishes its official 2026/2027 schedule.
