LASU

Lagos State University, also known as LASU, was established in 1983 by the enabling Law of Lagos State of Nigeria to advance learning and establish academic excellence. The university caters to a population of over 35,000 students enrolled full-time.

The university also offers courses at Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate levels. Lagos State University is in Ojo, a town in Lagos State, Nigeria. LASU is the only state university in the former British colony.

Lagos State University offers diploma, degree, and postgraduate programmes, including an MBA program.

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agriculture;

You require;

Five (5) SSC credit passes include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Geography, and Economics.

Seven subjects are listed for five credit places, so not all of them can be required at once. English Language, a biological subject and Chemistry are the ones that recur elsewhere in the post.

Biology and Agricultural Science are treated as interchangeable, which helps candidates who sat the agricultural paper rather than Biology.

Geography and Economics appearing on the same list is worth noting, since neither is a laboratory science and both widen the course considerably.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agriculture if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require; Two (2) A-level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, and Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).

Direct Entry makes Chemistry compulsory and leaves the second pass wide open. Botany, Zoology, Geology and Mathematics all appear here alongside the subjects named at O Level.

That makes Chemistry the single subject you cannot avoid on this route, whatever your other strengths.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into LASU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 160 or above in your JAMB result.

Seven Subjects for Five Credits at LASU Agriculture

The O Level line names seven subjects for five places, so treat English Language, a biological subject and Chemistry as the core and fill the rest from Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Economics.

Chemistry is the only subject named outright at Direct Entry, where the second pass may come from a long list including Botany, Zoology and Geology. Either way, your JAMB score needs to reach 160 for the 2026/2027 session.
