O’Level Subject Combination

Five SSCE credit passes include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and other relevant subjects.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Insurance under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above Universities include;
Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science subject.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Insurance if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes, including Economics.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into LASU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 160 or above in your JAMB result.
Economics as the Common Thread for LASU Insurance
Economics runs through every stage of this application. The O level requirement is five SSCE credit passes covering English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other relevant subjects, so the subject needs to be secured at secondary level first.
UTME candidates take Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject alongside compulsory English. Direct Entry is the shortest route, asking only for two A level passes that include Economics, and a JAMB score of 160 or above clears you for screening.
