Admission Requirements for Architecture
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Architecture is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and any science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Architecture under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at MAUTECH include;
Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Geography/Biology.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Architecture if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Geography/Fine arts.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Fine Arts Only at MAUTECH Architecture Direct Entry
Three different third subjects appear across the three routes, which is unusual and worth reading closely before you register anything.
At O’level the five credits are Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology and any science subject, so Biology is named outright.
At UTME the third paper becomes Chemistry, Geography or Biology, beside the fixed Physics and Mathematics.
At Direct Entry the same slot takes Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts, which is the only place an art subject is recognised on this page.
Physics and Mathematics are the constants throughout. Candidates entering through UTME need a minimum of 180 and above in their JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session.
