Admission Requirements for Information Technology
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Information Technology is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Economics, and any science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Information Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at MAUTECH include;
Mathematics, Economics, and any one of Account, Commerce, and Government
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Information Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
A’ level passes/ND and HND in relevant subjects into 200 and 300 levels
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
A Commercial UTME List at MAUTECH Information Technology
The JAMB combination here is built around business subjects. Mathematics and Economics are fixed, and the fourth paper can be Accounting, Commerce or Government, with no science subject named.
The O’level line is less forgiving, requiring Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Economics plus any science subject, so a Physics credit is needed even though Physics never appears at JAMB.
Direct Entry is described broadly, accepting A’level passes, an ND or an HND in relevant subjects for entry at 200 or 300 level.
Mathematics and Economics are the two constants on the UTME side. Candidates need a minimum of 180 and above in their JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session.
