This is to notify the general public and all aspiring Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola students that the Department of Urban & Regional Planning admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

The Federal University of Technology, now known as the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola, is a research-intensive university in Girei, a town in Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria.
It is one of the 27 federal government university systems and one of only 4 federal technology universities established to advance science-based research.
The Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola is accredited by the National Universities Commission. The university offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Urban and Regional Planning include the following:
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IRK/CRK, Social Studies, and Technical Drawing.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
MAUTECH requires Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sci., Technical Drawing, Economics, Fine Art, Visual Arts.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Geography and one subject from below:
- Economics
- Physics
- Chemistry
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
MAUTECH requires Geography and any two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Agric. Science, Mathematics, Economics.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Urban and Regional Planning if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two A/L passes in Geography and Mathematics.
- ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Town Planning or related discipline plus UTME requirements are accepted.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
MAUTECH accepts;
- IJMB/Two `A’ level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Geography, or other relevant subjects.
- OND/HND in URP, Urban Design, Architecture, Building, Civil Engineering, Geography, Survey & Geoinformatics, or any other relevant field at a lower credit level.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum of 160 or above score in your JAMB result.
