It is not considered valid if you pay your school fees after the deadline, and you may go through many filing processes to get your money.
The penalty for defaulting is a loss of studentship for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

What Jigawa’s Scholarship Covers at Sule Lamido University
The state scholarship reshapes this schedule entirely. Female indigenes and physically challenged indigenes pay nothing at all, while male indigenes are billed a reduced amount and the Jigawa State Scholarship Board settles the rest.
Students from other states carry the full charge: N70,000 for science-based programmes and N60,000 for arts-based ones. That is the gap the scholarship closes for Jigawa indigenes.
One figure needs checking. The notes describe the male indigene share as 25 percent, which would be N17,500 for science and N15,000 for arts, but the amounts printed are N8,750 and N7,500. Ask the bursary whether the smaller figure is a per-semester instalment.
The remaining charges are small and uniform. Acceptance is N2,000 and a hostel bed N10,000, so a non-indigene science fresher needs N82,000 for the session against N12,000 for a female indigene. The deadline is March 2026.
