The management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) is pleased to announce introduction of new undergraduate programs in the institution.
The National Universities Commission has approved establishing fourteen (14) new programs at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University.
Education degrees make up the largest group among the fourteen, with six separate programmes covering integrated science, business studies, primary, early childhood, special and computer science education.
The rest spread across medicine, the environmental and agricultural sciences, and the social sciences, which broadens the range of first choice options at the university considerably.
Candidates who have successfully chosen UMYU as their first choice for any of the courses should register for Post-UTME immediately via the University website.

- Medicine and Surgery (MBBS.)
- Forestry and Wildlife Management (B. Forestry)
- Integrated Science (B.Sc. (Ed.))
- Business Studies Education (B.Sc. (Ed.))

- Early Childhood Education (B.A. (Ed.))
- Special Education (B.A. (Ed.))
- Computer Science Education (B.Sc. (Ed.))
- International Relations (B.Sc.)
- Environmental Management (B.Sc.)
- Local Government and Developmental Studies (B.Sc.)
- Meteorology (B.Sc.)
- Agricultural Science (B. Agric)
- Fisheries and Aquaculture (B. Fisheries)
Medicine and Surgery is the most competitive addition on that list, while Forestry and Wildlife Management, Meteorology and Fisheries and Aquaculture are the most specialised.
Applicants are advised to ensure that they meet the minimum requirements, including cut-off marks, for their programme of choice. Information regarding the requirements for each programme is available on the website.
Because these are newly approved programmes, their requirements and cut off marks are published by the university itself rather than carried in older brochures.
Note that candidates are to expect an aptitude test/screening and are advised to check the university’s website for updates regularly.
