This is to inform the general public and all aspiring University of Benin (UNIBEN) students that the admission requirements for the Department of Education & Integrated Science have been published.
The sections below cover the five O’Level credit passes, two Benin waiver remarks, the four subjects sat in JAMB UTME, three Direct Entry routes, and the JAMB score required.
Integrated Science teaching draws on the sciences broadly, so the UTME line offers five subjects to choose three from and the waivers narrow that choice.
Both waivers are worth reading closely, because each names a specific set of subjects rather than leaving the choice to the candidate.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & Integrated Science include the following:
- Five SSCE credit passes, including Biology, Chemistry, English Language, and Mathematics.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
- UNIBEN requires Physics and any Agricultural Science or Geography/Physics and Mathematics.
This first waiver adds Physics to the four subjects named above it, with Agricultural Science, Geography or Mathematics completing the set. It is the O’Level condition Benin applies.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Any three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Agric Science.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIBEN requires Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics.
The second waiver fixes what the general UTME line leaves open. Rather than any three of five subjects, Benin wants Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics alongside English Language.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Integrated Science if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- NCE Integrated Science
- NCE Science Education
- ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) Science subjects
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2026/2027 session should know that you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result to be eligible for the screening.
UNIBEN Integrated Science: Register to the Waivers
The two general lists on this page are wider than what Benin actually applies. For UTME, register Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics alongside the compulsory English Language.
At O’Level, work from the first waiver, which brings Physics into the required set and takes Agricultural Science, Geography or Mathematics to complete the five credits.
Direct Entry is the simplest part. An NCE in Integrated Science, an NCE in Science Education, or A Level passes in two science subjects will each do, and UTME candidates need 200 in JAMB.
