About the University of Calabar
The University of Calabar is a federal university in Cross River State, in the south south region of Nigeria. It was established in 1975.

Geography Counts for UNICAL Geology, but Not at O Level
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject. Four of the five are therefore fixed.
The JAMB combination is looser. English Language is compulsory, and the other three papers come from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Geography.
Geography appears there and again in the Direct Entry list, but not in the O’Level requirement. A candidate relying on it should make sure the four named O’Level credits are also in place.
Direct Entry takes two A level passes from Geology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Geography, the widest of the three lists on this page.
The UNICAL JAMB threshold is 150 and above for any department. Check your Biology and Chemistry credits first, since both are compulsory at O’Level here.
