Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNICROSS requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and other Arts or Social Science subjects. Fine Arts will be an added advantage.
The general list above names Chemistry and a long run of studio and craft subjects. The UNICROSS waiver asks for something quite different, five credits including English Language, Mathematics and Arts or Social Science subjects.
Fine Arts is described as an advantage rather than a requirement under the waiver, so it helps an application without being compulsory.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Mathematics and Fine Art/Physics
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
- UNICROSS requires any three (3) subjects
The same pattern repeats on the JAMB form. The general combination names Chemistry, Mathematics and Fine Art or Physics, while the UNICROSS waiver accepts any three subjects beside English Language.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Visual Arts and Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- ‘A’ level passes in Two of Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
- ND in Industrial Design, Glass Technology, or Fine Art at Credit
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNICROSS accepts NCE in Fine Arts or ND in Fine Arts with a minimum credit of 2.5.
Direct Entry is where Fine Arts becomes central. The waiver accepts an NCE in Fine Arts, or an ND in Fine Arts at a minimum of 2.5, alongside the A Level and diploma routes listed above.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNICROSS for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 140 or above in your JAMB result.
Why the UNICROSS Waivers Reshape Visual Arts and Technology Entry
Two sets of rules sit in this post. The general lists are built around Chemistry and studio subjects, while every UNICROSS waiver points towards English Language, Mathematics and the Arts.
Plan around the waivers, since they name the university directly. Fine Arts is an advantage at O Level and the basis of the NCE and ND routes at Direct Entry. Clear 140 in JAMB for the 2026/2027 session.
