Chemistry is offered at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). This page sets out the O’Level credits for UTME candidates, the JAMB subject combination, the two Direct Entry routes and the JAMB score.
UNILAG is a federal government research university in Lagos State, in south western Nigeria. It remains among the most competitive institutions in the country for admissions, and holds one of the largest student populations of any Nigerian university.
Chemistry itself is the only subject compulsory at every stage. It is a named O’Level credit, an asterisked JAMB paper, and the first subject listed for Direct Entry.
Physics, Biology and Mathematics then rotate through the other positions. All three are compulsory credits at O’Level, but only two of them are needed as JAMB papers.

JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.
Five Named Credits, Two Chosen JAMB Papers at UNILAG Chemistry
The O’Level requirement leaves nothing open. Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with no optional slot at all.
The JAMB combination is where the choice appears. English Language and Chemistry are compulsory, and two further papers come from Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
Since all three of those are already compulsory O’Level credits, you can simply pick the two you are strongest in and nothing new needs preparing.
Direct Entry gives two routes. Two A level passes in Chemistry and one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology, or an ND or NCE with good grades in relevant O’Level subjects.
The JAMB score for any UNILAG department is 200 and above. With every O’Level credit specified here, verifying all five on your result slip is the first step.
