The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is a federal government research university in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The school has maintained one of the most competitive in the country regarding admissions. UNILAG has one of the largest student population sizes of any university in the country.
In this article, we will list the requirements candidates must meet to study Physiology at the University of Lagos, ranging from O’level subject combination, JAMB Score and Post UTME Score, and departmental cut-Off mark.
To study Physiology, candidates must meet the following requirements.
Three routes are described below, covering the O’level credits, the four UTME papers and the Direct Entry option, followed by the score the university expects from every candidate.
O’Level Subject Combination
Below is the UTME Requirement for PHYSIOLOGY;
- Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
JAMB Subject Combination
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for PHYSIOLOGY;
- English Language(*), Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Direct Entry Requirement For Physiology
Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for PHYSIOLOGY;
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes chosen from Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Zoology.
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.

Where UNILAG Physiology Allows Zoology
Physics, Chemistry and Biology sit at the centre of this course, appearing in the O’level credits and again as the three UTME papers beside English Language.
Zoology enters only at Direct Entry, where the two A’level passes are chosen from Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Zoology. UTME candidates have no such substitution available.
Mathematics works the other way round. It is required among the five O’level credits but appears in neither the UTME combination nor the Direct Entry list.
On score, the university requires 200 and above in JAMB for admission to any of its departments, so that figure is the first hurdle for a Physiology application.
Check the five named O’level subjects against your result sheet before registering, since none of them has a stated alternative at that stage.
