UNILAG

The O’Level section here is one of the longest on any UNILAG course page. Beyond the four named credits it lists more than twenty building and craft subjects that count towards the requirement.

That reflects the trade background many quantity surveyors come from. Bricklaying, joinery, carpentry, glazing and basic electricity all appear alongside the conventional school subjects.

Trade Subjects Count for UNILAG Quantity Surveying

English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are the named O’Level credits. The remaining place may be filled from a long list that starts with Fine Art, Geography, Woodwork, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing and Further Mathematics.

It then continues through the construction trades. Introduction to Building Construction, bricklaying and blocklaying, concreting, wall, floor and ceiling finishing, joinery, carpentry and the decorative painting and sign work subjects all qualify.

Colour mixing and glazing, ceramics, graphic design, graphic printing and basic electricity close the list, which makes this a genuinely accessible route for technical college candidates.

The JAMB combination draws on English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology and Economics. Direct Entry takes two A level passes from Mathematics or Physics and Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts, or an ND or HND at upper credit in a relevant field.

The JAMB score for any UNILAG department is 200 and above. Confirm the four named O’Level credits first, since the long optional list only governs the fifth place.
