This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Business Education admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Economics is the subject that anchors this course. It is required at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB, alongside English Language and Mathematics on both lists.
The department also recognises commercial and secretarial subjects for holders of the NBC, naming Commerce, Office Practice, Principles of Accounts, Secretarial Duties, Typewriting and Shorthand.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Business Education include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics and two (2) other subjects in the Social Sciences or Arts.
- For NBC, the other subjects could be the following: Commerce, Office Practice, Principles of Accounts, Secretarial Duties, Typewriting, and Shorthand.
Three subjects are fixed and two are chosen from the Social Sciences or the Arts. NBC holders may use the commercial subjects listed instead.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics plus one (1) subject from below:
- Literature in English
- History
- Government
- Geography

- Physics
The option list for the fourth paper is wide. It runs from Literature in English and History through to Chemistry and Physics, so science candidates are not excluded.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Business Education if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require:
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or NCE merit in two (2) relevant subjects
- NCE merit in Business Education Double Major
Both options turn on the word merit where an NCE is offered. The first also accepts two Advanced Level passes in relevant subjects as an alternative.

Economics Anchors ACEONDO Business Education
A candidate without Economics at Ordinary Level will struggle here, since the subject appears on both the credit list and the JAMB combination.
Beyond that the requirement is accommodating. Two of the five credits may come from the Social Sciences or the Arts, and NBC holders have a commercial subject route.
Direct entry candidates should check whether their NCE carries a merit grade, and UTME candidates should confirm their JAMB score reaches the 120 screening threshold.
