This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Education & Economics admission requirements have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Economics sits at the centre of every route into this department. It is named in the Ordinary Level credits, in the JAMB papers and in both direct entry options.
The Ordinary Level condition is short. Five credits are required and only three of them are specified, which leaves two places open to any subject.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & Economics include the following:
- Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Economics, and Mathematics.
English Language, Economics and Mathematics are the three named credits. Nothing is said about the other two, so a candidate may use whatever results they hold.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Economics
- Mathematics and any one (1) subject from below:
- Geography/Physics
- History
- Government
- Literature in English
The option list for the fourth paper is broad, running from Geography or Physics through History and Government to Literature in English.
That range means science and arts candidates alike can complete the combination, provided they hold Economics and Mathematics.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Economics if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and one (1) other relevant subjects
- NCE merit/credit in Economics and one (1) other subject
Both options pair Economics with a second subject. The Advanced Level route asks for a relevant subject, while the NCE route accepts any other subject at merit or credit.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

ACEONDO, also known as Adeyemi College of Education, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The Nigerian federal government manages the college.

Economics Is the Common Thread at ACEONDO Education and Economics
A candidate without Economics has no route in. The subject appears in the Ordinary Level credits, the JAMB combination and both direct entry conditions.
Mathematics is the next most important, being named at Ordinary Level and in JAMB, after which the requirements become genuinely flexible.
Direct entry candidates need a second qualification alongside Economics, and UTME candidates need a JAMB score of at least 120 for the screening exercise.
