This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Education & French admission requirements have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
French is the only specialist subject named anywhere in this requirement. It appears in the Ordinary Level credits, in the JAMB papers and in the direct entry condition.
Around it the lists stay short. Just two Ordinary Level credits are specified, and the other JAMB papers need only be Arts subjects.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & French include the following:
- Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language and French
English Language and French are the named credits. The remaining three may be in any subject, which makes this one of the most open conditions at the college.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- French plus two (2) other Arts subjects
Read in full that is English Language, French and two further Arts subjects, which gives four papers in total.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education & French if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require:
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in French and one (1) other Arts subject
Advanced Level passes and an NCE at merit are treated as equivalents here, and in either case French must be paired with another Arts subject.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

Two Named Credits for ACEONDO Education and French
The Ordinary Level requirement names only English Language and French, so most candidates will be able to assemble the five credits without difficulty.
What decides the application is the French credit itself, since no part of the requirement offers an alternative to it on any route.
Direct entry candidates pair French with one other Arts subject at Advanced Level or NCE merit, while UTME candidates need a JAMB score of at least 120 for the screening exercise.
