Three subjects are named at Ordinary Level and the remaining two come from an exceptionally long option list. More than twenty entries are given, most of them practical or vocational.

The JAMB side is much shorter. English Language and Fine Arts are compulsory and the other two papers may be any subjects at all.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Fine & Applied Art include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Fine Arts and any other two subjects from below:
  • Craft
  • Textile Clothing
  • Technical Drawing
  • A Science subject
  • An Arts subject
  • Decorative Painting
  • Spray Painting, Lining, Sign, and Design
  • Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching, and Glazing
  • Graphic Design
  • Graphic Printing
  • Ceramics
  • Basic Electricity
  • General Woodwork
  • General Metal Work
  • Men/Ladies Garment Construction & Finishing
  • Spinning
  • Weaving
  • Men/Ladies Textile Design
  • Surface Design & Printing
  • Bleaching, Dyeing, and Finishing
  • Spraying, Painting, Lining, Sign, and Design

The list runs well beyond conventional school subjects, taking in trades such as spinning, weaving, glazing and garment construction alongside Graphic Design and Ceramics.

Two generic entries also appear, a Science subject and an Arts subject, so a candidate with no vocational credits at all can still complete the five.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB

  • English Language
  • Fine Arts and any two other subjects

That reads as four papers: English Language, Fine Arts and two others of the candidate’s choosing, with no restriction placed on the last two.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the  Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

The score decides eligibility for the screening exercise rather than admission itself. Candidates below it are not carried forward.

Reading the Long Option List at ACEONDO Fine and Applied Arts

Fine Arts is the one subject that cannot be substituted, appearing in both the Ordinary Level credits and the JAMB combination.

Beyond that the department is unusually open to vocational and technical backgrounds, which is what the length of its option list is there to accommodate.

Candidates who hold no listed trade subject can fall back on the generic Science and Arts entries, and need a JAMB score of at least 120 for the screening exercise.
