This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Hausa/Yoruba Studies have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
English Language and Mathematics are named at Ordinary Level, with a Nigerian language and two Arts subjects completing the five credits required.
The JAMB combination follows the same shape. English Language is fixed, a Nigerian language is named, and two Arts papers make up the four.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Hausa/Yoruba Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Yoruba/Hausa and any two Arts subjects
Two of the five credits are left entirely to the candidate, provided they are Arts subjects, which gives more latitude than most language departments at this college.

Mathematics does not carry over into JAMB. In its place a second Arts paper joins English Language and the Nigerian language.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The score decides eligibility for the screening exercise. Candidates who reach it still face that stage before any offer is made.

Reading the Language Requirement at ACEONDO Hausa and Yoruba
Two Arts credits beyond the named subjects, and two Arts papers in JAMB, make this one of the more flexible language departments at the college.
English Language is required at both stages and Mathematics among the credits, which is the standard pattern across ACEONDO.
Both subject lists write the languages as Yoruba/Hausa, a form this site uses elsewhere to mean one or the other, while the course title pairs them. Confirm with the ACEONDO admission office or the current JAMB brochure whether credits in both languages are required.
