This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Home Economics admission requirements have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Only English Language and Mathematics are named at Ordinary Level. The remaining three credits come from an option list of more than twenty entries.
That list reaches well beyond the sciences, taking in catering, garment construction, textile design, metal work and basic electricity alongside Biology and Chemistry.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Home Economics include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics and any three subjects from below:
- Agricultural Science
- Biology
- Chemistry
- General Science
- Health Science
- Home Management/
- Hotel and Catering
- Food and Nutrition
- Integrated Science
- P.H.E/P.E.
- Physics
- Economics
- General Metal Work
- Building/Engineering Drawing
- Men/Ladies Garment Constr. and Finishing
- Men/Ladies Textile Design
- Spinning
- Weaving
- Surface Design and Printing
- Bleaching, Dyeing, and Finishing
- Basic Electricity
Food and Nutrition, Home Management and Hotel and Catering sit on the list beside the laboratory sciences, which suits candidates from a vocational background.
Physical and Health Education also appears, as do Economics and several technical drawing and workshop subjects, so very few applicants will be excluded on subjects alone.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language and any three subjects below:
- Chemistry
- Agricultural Science
- Home Economics
- Economics
- Mathematics
The JAMB list is far shorter. English Language is compulsory and the other three papers come from Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Economics and Mathematics.
Candidates who used a trade subject for an Ordinary Level credit will need to pick from this narrower group when they register for the examination.

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

A Wide Ordinary Level List for ACEONDO Home Economics
This department has one of the broadest credit requirements at the college, with more than twenty subjects accepted for the three option places.
The narrowing happens at JAMB, where only five subjects are offered and three of them must be chosen, so plan the registration around that shorter list.
English Language is the one subject required at both stages, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 before the college will invite a candidate to screening.
