This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Igbo/Yoruba Studies have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
English Language is required at both stages and Mathematics among the Ordinary Level credits. Beyond those, the requirement is filled out with a Nigerian language and two Arts subjects.
That leaves candidates a good deal of room, since two of the five credits and two of the four JAMB papers may be any Arts subject.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Igbo/Yoruba Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Igbo/Yoruba and two Arts subjects
Two subjects are named outright, a Nigerian language is required, and the last two credits may be drawn from any Arts subject the candidate holds.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Igbo/Yoruba and any two Arts subjects
The JAMB condition mirrors the Ordinary Level one without Mathematics, so the four papers are English Language, a Nigerian language and two Arts subjects.
