Islamic Studies and Geography are both named at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. Each list sets them out separately, so both subjects are required.

The two lists are otherwise almost identical, differing only in that Mathematics is a named credit but not a JAMB paper.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Islamic/Geography Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Islamic Studies
  • Geography
  • One Arts/Social Science subject

Four credits are named and the fifth must be an Arts or Social Science subject, which gives candidates one choice among the five.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB

  • English Language
  • Islamic Studies
  • Geography and
  • One Art/Social Science subject

That gives English Language, Islamic Studies, Geography and one Arts or Social Science paper, which makes four in total.

Geography is the subject that sits across both the Arts and the Sciences here, so candidates from a science background are not shut out.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the  Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

The threshold governs eligibility for the screening exercise. Candidates who reach it still face that stage before any offer is made.

About Adeyemi College of Education

Adeyemi College of Education, also known as Aceondo, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The federal government of Nigeria manages the college.

The college, which is affiliated with the prestigious OAU in Ile-Ife, was founded in 1964 and named after a Nigerian educator.

The college aspires to be the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria, training students in academic and moral standards of international renown.

Both Subjects Named at ACEONDO Islamic Studies and Geography

Unlike several of the paired departments at this college, the two title subjects are listed separately rather than with a slash, so there is no ambiguity about needing both.

Confirm credits in Islamic Studies and Geography first, then check that English Language and Mathematics are in place among the five.

One Arts or Social Science place stays open on each list, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 before the college will invite a candidate to screening.
