Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) Admission Requirements In Microbiology

The undergraduate program in microbiology is a four-year program for UMTE candidates and a three-year program for Direct Entry candidates designed to teach students microbiology techniques and provide a fundamental understanding of the principles of virology, bacteriology, and mycology as well as how these disciplines relate to one another.

To avoid mistakes, all aspirants should read the subject combination for both O’Level and UTME carefully.

1. Students hoping to study for a B. Sc. Degree in Microbiology must satisfy the University and Faculty of Natural Sciences admission requirements.

They must have a minimum of Five Credits at the Ordinary Level (SSCE, NECO) at a single sitting or six credits at not more than two sittings. The credits must include English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.


2. Direct Entry candidates must have “A” level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.

At the same time, ND candidates with at least Upper Credit in relevant areas in addition to the requirements in (1) above may also be admitted.

To meet the manpower requirements of community laboratories, medical and paramedical institutions, and higher education institutions, Microbiology students will be exposed to pure and applied microbiology courses.
