This article will help all Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) aspirants to know their O’Level subjects and UTME Subjects combination to study Christian Studies.
It will also enable them to gain admission into the school without any difficulty. All aspirants should read the subject combination for both O’Level and UTME carefully to avoid any mistakes.
ACU Admission Requirement
4 Year B.A Programme
Students must satisfy the Faculty of Humanities and University admission requirements. Such requirements include five credits at Ordinary Level (SSCE, NECO) at a single sitting or six credits at not more than two sittings.
The credits must include English Language, Bible Knowledge, and any other three Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
Three-Year Degree Programme
Five Ordinary Level Papers, including the English Language. In addition, the candidate must have at least two ‘A’ Level papers, one of which must be Religious Studies, or at least 2 ‘A’ Level IJMB, one of which must be Religious Studies.
OR
Diploma in Religious Studies OR Diploma in Theology from a recognized University OR Diploma in Theology awarded by Theological Institutions affiliated to Universities provided the candidate has five GCE or NECO papers, including the English Language
OR
Nigerian Certificate In Education with Christian Religious Studies as a teaching subject provided the candidate has five GCE/NECO papers, including the English Language.

Degree Requirements
To be eligible for a single honours B.A. degree in Christian Studies, a student must pass all the prescribed courses and obtain a minimum of 120 credits in a four-year degree programme, or 90 credits in a three-year degree programme (for Direct Entry students).
Regulation on Course Selection
The Department operates a course unit system in a 2-semester academic year for the B.A. Honours Degree.
Students are required to take a list of approved courses and register for not fewer than 15 CREDITS and not more than 24 CREDITS each semester.
Four Routes Into ACU Christian Studies
The four year programme is the straightforward one, asking for five credits at a single sitting or six across no more than two, including English Language, Bible Knowledge and three Arts or Social Science subjects.
The three year programme replaces part of that with an advanced qualification. Two A’level papers or two IJMB papers are accepted, and one of them must be Religious Studies.
Two further routes exist for diploma holders. A Diploma in Religious Studies or Theology counts, as does an NCE with Christian Religious Studies as a teaching subject, each alongside five GCE or NECO papers including English Language.
Once admitted, the credit totals differ by route. A four year student needs 120 credits to graduate, while a Direct Entry student on the three year programme needs 90, taking between 15 and 24 credits each semester.
