Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agronomy if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes, including Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics/Economics.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into ADSU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Geography or Economics as the Fifth Credit for ADSU Agronomy
Four O’level subjects are fixed here, namely Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics and Biology. The fifth credit is a straight choice between Geography and Economics, with nothing else accepted.
At UTME the pattern shifts. Chemistry stays, Biology can be replaced by Agriculture, and the fourth paper is Mathematics or Physics, so neither Geography nor Economics counts at JAMB.
Direct Entry brings Economics back, listing it alongside Physics and Mathematics as the third element behind Biology or Agricultural Science and Chemistry.
The university has a competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background or religion when deciding whether to admit them. Candidates need a minimum of 180 and above in their JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session.
