Mathematics is taught in the Faculty of Science at Adamawa State University. The O’Level line reads as a full science set, which is stricter than the stages that follow it.
At UTME and Direct Entry only Mathematics is fixed, with the supporting subjects drawn from a short list or left open. The requirement loosens as a candidate progresses.
Confirm that Mathematics appears on the current ADSU course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

ADSU Mathematics Starts Strict and Then Relaxes
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language, Physics, and Biology or Agricultural Science. The last pair is the only choice at that stage.
Chemistry and Physics are both compulsory there, which is a heavier science load than most mathematics departments ask for.
The UTME combination narrows to Mathematics plus two of Chemistry, Biology and Physics, with English Language compulsory. Agricultural Science is not accepted at that point.
Direct Entry is the lightest condition, asking for two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes including Mathematics and one other science subject.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at ADSU and applies whichever route a candidate uses.
