BASUG School Fees and Registration Deadline

The Bauchi State University (BASUG) has announced the deadline for payment of fees. The deadline for fees is March 2026.

If you pay your school fees after the deadline, it is not considered valid, and you may go through a lot of filing processes to get your money.

The penalty for defaulting is a loss of studentship for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

Also, note that the lost session shall form part of the total duration allowed for the Programme.

However, a student who has a genuine reason(s) to apply for Temporary Withdrawal from Studies for the session must follow the due process before the end of the First Semester of the session.

How Much is BASUG School Fees?

BASUG school fees vary depending on your level, indigene status, and the program you are enrolled in. Note that the university officially changed its name to Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in 2024, though “BASUG” is still widely used and the old basug.edu.ng portal remains in use alongside the newer sazu.edu.ng domain.

Multiple independent fee trackers currently report the following for 2026/2027, though we could not pull these numbers directly from an official basug.edu.ng or sazu.edu.ng fee schedule page, so treat them as a strong estimate rather than a confirmed figure:

CATEGORY INDIGENE NON-INDIGENE
Fresh Students (100/200 Level) N60,500 N95,500
Returning (200/300 Level) N49,000 N81,500
Returning (400 Level) N54,000 N86,500
Part-Time (all levels) N50,000 N70,000

For comparison, the BASUG school fees schedule for a previous session, shown below, totalled N18,000 to N52,000 depending on indigene status and whether the student was in arts or science.

That is considerably lower than what is currently reported. Given the name change and administrative transition to SAZU, a substantial revision is plausible, but confirm your exact figure on the student portal before paying anything:

CATEGORY (PRIOR SESSION, FOR BACKGROUND) INDIGENE NON-INDIGENE
New Students, Arts N20,000 N40,000
New Students, Science N26,000 N52,000
Returning Students, Arts N18,000 N30,000
Returning Students, Science N21,000 N42,000

BASUG Remedial Students’ Charges (Prior Session, Background)

ITEM INDIGENES NON-INDIGENES
Science Students (Total) N22,000 N44,000
Arts Students (Total) N20,000 N40,000

How Much is BASUG Acceptance Fee?

The Bauchi State University (BASUG) acceptance fee is N2,500 for indigenes and N5,000 for non-indigenes, consistent across current sources.

New intakes must pay their acceptance fees to be considered students.

How Much is BASUG Hostel Fee?

Students who want to stay in the hostel accommodations that are made available by the school authorities would have to apply before time.

BASUG’s hostel accommodation fee is N15,000 for an academic session. This figure is consistent across every source we checked, including the university’s previous published figures.

Why the Sa’adu Zungur Name Change Matters at Payment

Two domains are live at once. The old basug.edu.ng portal still runs alongside the newer sazu.edu.ng, which means a figure you find under one name may be out of step with the schedule enforced under the other.

The gap between the schedules is large. Indigene freshers are now reported at N60,500 against N20,000 for arts entrants in the prior session, roughly triple, and non-indigenes at N95,500 against N40,000.

The smaller charges have barely moved. Acceptance stays at N2,500 for indigenes and N5,000 for non-indigenes, and a hostel place is N15,000, a figure consistent across every source checked.

So an indigene fresher taking a hostel bed needs about N78,000 and a non-indigene around N115,500. With the deadline at March 2026, generate your own invoice before paying and treat the table rows as estimates until it matches.
