COOU School Fees and Registration Deadline

The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has announced the deadline for payment of fees. The deadline for fees is March 2026.

If you pay your school fees after the deadline, it is not considered valid, and you may go through a lot of filing processes to get your money.

The penalty for defaulting is a loss of studentship for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

Also, note that the lost session shall form part of the total duration allowed for the Programme.

However, a student with a genuine reason(s) to apply for Temporary Withdrawal from Studies for the session must follow the due process before the end of the First Semester of the session.

How Much is COOU Acceptance Fee?

COOU’s acceptance fee has moved up sharply. The confirmed figure for the 2025/2026 session was N26,315. Multiple sources now report N60,000 for 2026/2027, which would be a large jump, so we have not been able to verify it against an official COOU circular.

Confirm the exact current amount on the admission portal before paying, since this fee is non-refundable.

New intakes must pay their acceptance fees to be considered students.

How Much is Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Hostel Fee?

Students who want to stay in the hostel accommodations that are made available by the school authorities would have to apply before time.

COOU’s hostel accommodation fee was last confirmed at around N25,000, though current reports suggest it may now be closer to N50,000 to N70,000 depending on the hostel. Confirm with student affairs before applying for a room.

How COOU Charges Step Down as You Move Up Levels

The COOU table rewards persistence. Medical students pay 402,300 naira in their first two years, then 252,300 from third year onward, and by fifth year every professional and non-professional course converges on a single rate of 113,300.

Below medicine the spread is narrower than it looks. Law sits at 187,950, science-based and professional courses at 137,950, and non-professional courses at 127,950, with each dropping by a thousand naira in fourth year.

The tuition table is the dependable part of this page. The acceptance fee is not, since the reported jump from N26,315 to N60,000 could not be matched to an official circular, and hostel reports range from N25,000 up to N70,000.

Check both of those on the admission portal and with student affairs before moving any money, and keep the March 2026 deadline in mind. A payment made after it is not valid, and the lost session still counts toward your programme duration.
