Geophysics is taught under the Faculty of Science at The Federal University, Kashere. Physics and Mathematics are the named subjects at the O’Level and UTME stages, with a free science slot alongside them.
No Geology or Geography paper is required anywhere on this page. The department builds its entry standard on the core physical sciences instead.

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Geophysics is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and any other Science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Geophysics under the Faculty of Science at FUKASHERE include;
Physics, Mathematics, and any other Science subject.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Geophysics if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any other science subjects.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
No Geology Needed for FUKASHERE Geophysics
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and any other science subject. Three papers are named and the balance stays within the sciences.
The UTME combination repeats it. English Language is compulsory, Physics and Mathematics are fixed, and the third subject may be any other science paper.
Direct Entry names only Mathematics, asking for two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any other science subjects. Physics drops out of the requirement at that level.
Candidates sometimes assume a geoscience programme will ask for Geography or Geology. Neither appears here, so a standard physics and mathematics track is the right preparation.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FUKASHERE and applies before the subject conditions are assessed.
