Arabic Studies is taught under the Faculty of Art & Humanities at The Federal University, Kashere. The Arabic paper is required at every stage and no substitute is offered for it.
Mathematics is the other compulsory O’Level credit, which is easy to overlook on a language course. It is named at that stage only and plays no part in the UTME combination.
Confirm that Arabic Studies appears on the current FUKASHERE course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Arabic Studies is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Arabic, and any other social science/art subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Arabic Studies under the Faculty of Art & Humanities at FUKASHERE include;
Arabic and two other Social science/Art subjects.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Arabic Studies if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Arabic and any other art subject.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Arabic and Mathematics Together at FUKASHERE Arabic Studies
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Arabic and any other social science or arts subject. Three papers are named and the rest are open within that field.
The Mathematics credit is the condition most likely to catch out a candidate who concentrated on Arabic and other arts subjects at secondary school. There is no pass level alternative stated here.
The UTME combination drops Mathematics. English Language is compulsory, Arabic is fixed, and the two remaining papers may be any social science or arts subjects.
Direct Entry narrows further, asking for two ‘A’ level passes in Arabic and any other arts subject. Social science papers accepted at UTME are not accepted on that route.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FUKASHERE and applies to every route described above.
