Physics is taught under the Faculty of Sciences at The Federal University, Kashere (FUKASHERE). Physics and Mathematics are fixed at every stage, and Chemistry moves between being required and optional.
The O’Level line names Further Mathematics among the acceptable fifth credits, which rewards candidates who sat it alongside the standard science set.
Confirm that Physics appears on the current FUKASHERE course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

Admission Requirements for Physics
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Physics is Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science subject from Further Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Physics under the Faculty of Sciences at FUKASHERE include;
Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Physics if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
NCE/Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics or Chemistry.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Chemistry Shifts Between Required and Optional at FUKASHERE Physics
The O’Level requirement is five SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, plus one more from Further Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
Chemistry is compulsory at that stage. In the UTME combination it becomes an alternative to Biology, and at Direct Entry an alternative to Mathematics.
The UTME combination keeps English Language compulsory, fixes Physics and Mathematics, and allows Chemistry or Biology in the third place.
Direct Entry accepts an NCE or two ‘A’ level passes in Physics and either Mathematics or Chemistry, so Physics is the only paper required without alternative anywhere.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FUKASHERE and applies whichever route a candidate uses.
