Education and Economics is taught under the Faculty of Education at The Federal University, Kashere (FUKASHERE). Economics and Mathematics are named at both the O’Level and UTME stages.
The UTME list offers Physics as an alternative to Geography in the third slot, which is unexpected on an economics teaching course and appears only there.

The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Economics is Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Economics and Mathematics.

Economics, Mathematics and one other subject from Geography/Physics, History, Government and Lit. in English.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Economics if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes in Economics and one other relevant subject.
- NCE credit/merit level passes in Economics and another subject.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Physics Sits Oddly in the FUKASHERE Education and Economics Combination
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Economics and Mathematics. Two of the five credits carry no restriction.
The UTME combination keeps English Language compulsory, fixes Economics and Mathematics, and offers a choice for the last place.
That choice runs between Geography or Physics, History, Government and Literature in English. Physics among a set of arts and social science options is the one oddity here.
Direct Entry sets out two routes. Two advanced level passes in Economics and one other relevant subject, or NCE passes at credit or merit in Economics and another subject.
