Admission Requirements for Agricultural Economics and Extension
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Economics and Extension is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, and Chemistry.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Agricultural Economics and Extension under the Faculty of Agriculture at MAUTECH include;
Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Economics and Extension if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Physics/Agricultural Science.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
No Economics in the MAUTECH Agricultural Economics Entry Lists
Despite the course title, Economics is not named anywhere on this page. The requirements rest on Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
At O’level all five credits are specified, and Agricultural Science is accepted in place of Biology, which suits candidates from agricultural secondary schools.
At UTME the three papers beside English Language are Biology, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics, so the Agricultural Science alternative is not repeated there.
Direct Entry brings it back, accepting Biology, Physics or Agricultural Science as the second subject behind the compulsory Chemistry.
Candidates entering through UTME need a minimum of 180 and above in their JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session.
