This article is designed to help students who wish to study Architecture under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at the Federal University of Technology (FUTA).

It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in FUTA to carefully confirm and see if the course they selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Architecture if you do not intend to use UTME.
You require Physics, Mathematics, and any of Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology, and Economics.
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in any 200 or 300-level course at the NCE/HND/OND program.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUTA for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Trade Certificates in the FUTA Architecture Credit List
The O’level list runs far beyond the usual science subjects. After Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language, Physics and Economics it takes in bricklaying, concreting, joinery, carpentry, decorative painting, ceramics, graphics and basic electricity.
Those entries exist so technical college candidates can use the trade subjects they actually sat rather than a conventional fifth science.
The later lists are much tighter. At UTME, Physics and Mathematics are fixed and the fourth paper comes from Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology or Economics.
Direct Entry repeats that same combination, and separately accepts two A’level or NCE passes at 200 or 300 level through an NCE, HND or OND programme.
The university has a competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background or religion when deciding whether to admit them. A minimum of 180 and above in JAMB applies for the 2026/2027 session.
