MAUTECH Department of Civil Engineering Admission Requirement 2026/2027

MAUTECH

Civil Engineering at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola is run under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology. The requirements set out here are course specific, and they rest on the same three science subjects from O’Level through to Direct Entry at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola.

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry carry this application. They are named in the SSCE credit list, repeated in the UTME combination, and repeated again in the advanced level route. No entry path into the course works without them.

About Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola

Admission Requirements for Civil Engineering

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination

The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Civil Engineering is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and any science subject.

JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.

Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Civil Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at MAUTECH include;

Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Civil Engineering if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.

Where MAUTECH Civil Engineering Applications Usually Fall Short

The five SSCE credits are mostly spoken for. Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry are named outright, leaving only one free slot, and even that must be filled by a science subject.

The UTME combination offers no flexibility at all. English Language is compulsory, and the three subjects beside it are fixed as Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Candidates who swap in Biology or Geography will not satisfy this line.

Direct Entry repeats the same trio in a shorter form. Two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes are required from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, so the route shortens the wait but does not widen the subject field.

The 180 JAMB benchmark for the 2026/2027 session determines who reaches screening. It is a floor rather than a target, and competitive engineering applicants at MAUTECH generally sit some way above it.
