About Rivers State University

The Rivers State University of Technology was founded in 1979 and is the first of its kind in Nigeria. According to the 4icu.org international higher education rankings, the school is ranked sixth in Nigeria.

The university was established as a non-profit organization to push the frontiers of technology in Nigeria, and the university has been committed to this since its inception.

The school was formerly known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), or UST for short, until it was renamed in 2017 by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.

Choosing the Fourth Subject for RSU Land Surveying

English Language, Physics and Mathematics are fixed in the UTME combination, leaving one slot to fill from Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology and Economics. Geography is the closest fit to the surveying syllabus.

At O’Level, English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are required, with a fifth credit from a long list running through Fine Art, Geography, Woodwork, Technical Drawing, the building trades and Graphics Design.

Direct Entry takes two A Level passes from Mathematics or Physics plus Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts, or an ND or HND at upper credit in a relevant field. UTME candidates need a JAMB score of at least 180.
