This is to inform the general public and all Rivers State University (RSU) aspirants that the Department of Physiology Admission requirements has been published.

The sections below cover the five O’Level credit passes, the four subjects sat in JAMB UTME, the A Level route into Direct Entry, and the JAMB score needed to be eligible for screening into Physiology at RSU.
Physiology is a medical science course, so the subject list is fixed rather than flexible. English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology make up all five O’Level credits.
Mathematics is the one subject that does not carry into UTME. There you sit English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which is the standard medical science combination.

A Short History of Rivers State University
The Rivers State University of Technology was founded in 1979 and is the first of its kind in Nigeria. According to the 4icu.org international higher education rankings, the school is ranked sixth in Nigeria.
The university was established as a non-profit organization to push the frontiers of technology in Nigeria, and the university has been committed to this since its inception.
The school was formerly known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), or UST for short, until it was renamed in 2017 by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.
Mathematics Still Counts for RSU Physiology
The UTME combination leaves Mathematics out, which leads some candidates to assume it does not matter. It does, because Mathematics is one of the five O’Level credit passes the department requires.
Everything else is the familiar medical science set. English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology appear at both stages, and all five O’Level subjects are named outright with no alternatives offered.
Direct Entry takes two A Level passes from Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Zoology. UTME candidates need a JAMB score of at least 180 to be eligible for screening, with the departmental cut-off set separately.
