The University of Benin is a federal government-owned university funded and managed by the federal government of Nigeria. The university was founded in 1970. University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a research university in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
The university is one of the oldest in Nigeria and has a large student and staff population. Resulting in a student-staff ratio of about 10:1.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Economics; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and one in Geography, Physics, and Economics.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
- UNIBEN accepts Statistics and Further Mathematics. Also requires at least an ‘O’ level pass in Physics and ‘An O’level pass in Biology for candidates with an ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Agricultural Economics under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above Universities include;
Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
You need to fulfill these conditions to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Economics if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one in Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics, and Health Science.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2024/2025 session should know that you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result to be eligible for the screening.
