The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Engineering; You require;
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any from Intro. to Agric Sc. or Materials & Workshop Process and Machining, Tractor Layout Power Unit Under Carriage and Auto Electricity; Transmission System; Implement and Machine; Principles of Crop Husbandry and Land Use, Materials and Workshop Processes; Construction and Maintenance of Agricultural Machines; general Metal Work; General Wood Work and Building/Engineering Drawing.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Agricultural Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;
Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
You need to fulfill these conditions to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Engineering if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
UNIBEN
- does not accept First-degree holders.
- accepts;
- ‘A’ level/IJMB passes or equivalents in Physics and Mathematics.
- ND upper credit or distinction in Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Bio Resources Engineering or related from an accredited institution.
- HND in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Bio-Resources Engineering, or related from an accredited institution.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
Trade Subjects and the UNIBEN Agricultural Engineering Fifth Credit
Four O’level credits are fixed here, namely English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The fifth is drawn from a long technical list covering tractor systems, workshop processes, crop husbandry, metal work, wood work and engineering drawing.
That list exists so technical college candidates can complete the combination with the subjects they actually sat. At UTME no such latitude applies, since Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics are all named alongside the compulsory English Language.
Direct Entry recognises A’level or IJMB passes in Physics and Mathematics, and also an ND at upper credit or distinction or an HND in Agricultural Engineering or Agricultural Bio-Resources Engineering. First degree holders are not accepted on that route.
