This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Computer Engineering have been published.

The sections below cover the five O’Level credit passes, the four subjects sat in JAMB UTME, the A Level route into Direct Entry, and the JAMB score Benin requires for screening.
Computer Engineering at Benin asks for Further Mathematics among the five O’Level credits, which is unusual even among engineering programmes and decides many applications on its own.
The Direct Entry condition is heavier than most too, asking for three A Level passes rather than the usual two.

Further Mathematics Decides UNIBEN Computer Engineering
All five O’Level credits are named: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and English Language. Further Mathematics is the one many candidates do not sit, and there is no alternative offered.
The UTME combination is lighter, taking English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, so a candidate can have a valid JAMB registration and still fall short on the school certificate condition.
Direct Entry asks for three A Level passes covering Pure Mathematics or Pure and Applied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. UTME applicants need a JAMB score of at least 200 to be eligible for screening.
