You require;
Five SSCE credit passes include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and other relevant subjects.
Three credits are named and the remaining two are described only as relevant. Commercial and social science subjects such as Commerce, Accounts, Government and Geography are the natural choices for those two places.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Insurance under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences at UNIBEN include;
Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science subject
The fourth UTME subject has to come from the Social Sciences, so a science subject will not count here. Pick one that also serves as a relevant O’Level credit.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Insurance if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes, including Economics.
- GOUU; For Marketing, two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Accounting, Business Management, History, and Government. BSc, BA or HND in other programs, ND upper credit in Marketing

The Direct Entry condition for this department is the line above it, which asks for two A Level passes including Economics. Confirm anything further with the department before you apply.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
Three Named Subjects Carry the Whole Requirement for UNIBEN Insurance
English Language, Mathematics and Economics are the only subjects this department names, and everything else is left to your judgement. That makes the requirement easy to meet but easy to under-prepare for.
Treat Economics as the anchor, since it appears at O’Level, in the UTME and in the Direct Entry condition. Build your two flexible credits and your fourth UTME subject around the social sciences.
A JAMB score of 200 or above is required before UNIBEN will screen you, which is higher than the threshold many other federal universities apply.
