The University of Calabar is a public university situated in Calabar, Cross River State. The university has remained one of the most competitive in the country regarding admissions.
In this article, we will be listing the necessary requirements candidates must meet to study Education and Biology in the UNICAL ranging from O’level subject combination, JAMB Score and Post UTME Score, and departmental cut-Off mark.
To study Education and Biology, candidates must meet the following requirements.
Three routes follow, covering the O’level credits, the four JAMB papers and the Direct Entry option. Each treats Biology as the anchor subject and leaves the supporting choices to the candidate.
O’Level Subject Combination
Below is the UTME Requirement for Education and Biology;
- Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and one (1) other subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Education and Biology;
- English Language(*), Biology, and two (2) other subjects from Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

No Cut-Off Mark Published for UNICAL Education and Biology

What is stated is the O’level list, namely five SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and one other subject.
At UTME, Biology stays fixed beside the compulsory English Language, and two further papers come from Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Physics appears only in that JAMB list, so a candidate can use it at registration without needing it among the O’level credits.
Direct Entry is the shortest route, asking for an NCE or A’level passes in Biology and one other science subject, with no advanced qualification in education required.
