The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers, the Direct Entry conditions and the minimum UTME score. Mathematics is a compulsory credit here but only an option on the JAMB form, which is the detail to watch.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Forestry & Wildlife include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biology and any one subject from below:
- Physics
- Economics
- Further Mathematics
- Statistics
Four credits are named. English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology are compulsory, and the fifth comes from a short list of Physics, Economics, Further Mathematics or Statistics.
Economics on that list is worth noting, since it is the only non science option offered anywhere in the O Level requirement.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Biology or Agriculture
- Physics or Mathematics
The JAMB combination is looser. Agriculture is accepted in place of Biology, and the fourth paper may be Physics or Mathematics, so a candidate only registers one of those two.
Mathematics is still a compulsory O Level credit regardless of which of the two you choose in JAMB.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Forestry &WildLife if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ’A’ levels pass in Chemistry, Biology, Agric Science, Zoology, or Botany.
Direct Entry names five biological and chemical subjects with no fixed pairing. Zoology and Botany appear here even though neither is mentioned at O Level or in the JAMB combination.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNICROSS for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 140 or above in your JAMB result.
The Mathematics Trap in UNICROSS Forestry and Wildlife
Chemistry is the one subject required at every stage. Biology follows closely, compulsory at O Level and acceptable in JAMB alongside Agriculture, and present again on the Direct Entry list.
Mathematics is where candidates slip. It is a compulsory credit but only an alternative to Physics on the JAMB form, so leaving it off your result sheet ends the application. Clear 140 in JAMB for the 2026/2027 session.
