UNILAG is a federal government research university in Lagos State, in south western Nigeria. It remains among the most competitive institutions in the country for admissions, and holds one of the largest student populations of any Nigerian university.
Biology is the subject that runs through this course. It is the only named JAMB paper beyond compulsory English Language, and it heads the list of acceptable A level subjects.

UTME Requirement for Health Education

- Two ‘A’ level passes in any of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
- NCE (merit) in Physical Education and credit in Arithmetical Process or Mathematics.

Confirming the UNILAG Health Education Entry Route
The qualifications listed are two A level passes in any of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, or an NCE at merit in Physical Education together with a credit in Arithmetical Process or Mathematics.
Both of those read as advanced level entry rather than a standard five credit O’Level combination, and they appear twice on the page under different headings.
Because of that, a candidate applying through UTME should confirm the O’Level subject combination directly with the department before registering, rather than assuming the list above covers it.
What is clear is the JAMB combination. English Language is compulsory, Biology is required, and two further relevant subjects complete the four papers.
