Philosophy is taught in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Its entry requirements are the most open on the faculty list, naming only English Language at any stage.
The University of Lagos is a federal government research institution in southwest Nigeria. Because the subject conditions here are so broad, the institutional JAMB score does nearly all the work of narrowing the field.

For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.
Philosophy at UNILAG Names Only One Subject
The O’Level requirement is five SSC credit passes including English Language and four other relevant subjects. English Language is the only paper named, and relevance is left to the candidate to judge.
The UTME combination is looser still. English Language is compulsory and the remaining three subjects may be anything at all, with no restriction to the Arts or Social Sciences.
Direct Entry goes furthest. Any two ‘A’ level passes satisfy the requirement, which makes this one of the few UNILAG programmes open to advanced level holders from any subject background.
The JAMB score condition is 200 and above, applied to any department at the University of Lagos. That figure is the real barrier on this page rather than the subject lists.
Candidates should still choose their four other O’Level subjects with some care. Relevant is undefined here, so a combination that clearly supports an Arts degree is the safer position to be in.
