Education and Biology is run by the Faculty of Education at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola. The science content of the degree shows in the entry conditions, which name a full set of laboratory subjects at O’Level.

Admission Requirements for Education and Biology
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Biology is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Education and Biology under the Faculty of Education at MAUTECH include;
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Direct Entry Requirement
You must fulfil these conditions to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Biology if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Biology and any other science subjects.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Where Mathematics Stops Counting at MAUTECH Education and Biology
The O’Level requirement names all five credits: Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Nothing is optional at this stage, so the full science set has to be in place.
The UTME combination then drops Mathematics. English Language is compulsory and the other three subjects are Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with no alternative offered for any of them.
Direct Entry is the most flexible route here. Two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes are required, one in Biology and the rest in any other science subjects.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at MAUTECH. It governs eligibility for screening rather than deciding who is finally offered a place.
